Some of you may not be Christians or have fallen away from your FAITH. You may be thinking that GOD could never forgive you. That is why I want to talk to you about the “Parable Of The Lost Son.” Lets read it:
11) To illustrate the point further, JESUS told them this story: “A man had two sons. 12) The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. 13) A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. 14) About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. 15) He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into the fields to feed the pigs. 16) The young man became so hunger that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything. 17) When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food! 18) I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, 19) and I am on longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”‘ 20) So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father was him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. 21) His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am on longer worthy of being called your son.’ 22) But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring fr his finger and sandals for him feet. 23) And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, 24) for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began. 25) Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, 26) and he asked one of the servants what was going on. 27) ‘Your bother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ 28) The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, 29) but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a signal thing that you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. 30) Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!’ 31) His father said to him, ‘Look, my dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. 32) We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’” (NLT)
Did you know that it doesn’t matter what you’ve done, the LORD will forgive you? He loves you. JESUS died for everyone even though He knew that we would sin. You can always com to the JESUS no matter what. Lets listen to these two songs.
Come To The Cross By Michael W. Smith:
Still Calls Me Son By John Waller:
Now I would like to share with you a movie that I watched and what the LORD showed me through the movie! The movie was about a boy with a bad attitude and temper. A girl started talking to him about JESUS. She showed him some flash cards she had of JESUS’ death and resurrection. This boy gave his life to JESUS and that changed his life. The part of the movie that got me thinking was what the girl told him. Lets read this one part out of the Bible first.
39) One of the criminals hanging beside Him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself-and us, too, while you’re at it!” 40) But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear GOD even when you have been sentenced to die? 41) We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42) Then he said, “JESUS, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” 43) And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (NLT)
When Jesus was crucified there were two criminals that was crucified with Him. One of the criminals mocked Jesus. The other accepted JESUS and took Him at His word. That is what the young girl said to the young boy. That has made an impression on my heart. It has also made me look at that little story a totally different way. When I started to ponder that for a while I got a thought that gave me cold chills. I thought that we are one of those criminals. We are either the one that accepts JESUS or denies Him.
If you have fallen then just ask GOD to forgive you and get back up. If you have never asked GOD into your heart then you can right now. Pray this prayer out loud:
I come to You now and ask for forgiveness of my sins. I ask You to come into my heart. I believe that JESUS died on the cross and rose for the dead for me. I thank You for making my life brand new.
In JESUS Name I Pray, Amen
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you are my brother or sister in CHRIST. Now as the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 says,
This means that anyone who belongs to CHRIST has become a new person. The old life is gone, a new life has begun! (NLT)
