What does this mean? Well it mean that what someone else has you should not want it.
Amy looks at the Williams house and wishes that she had what Emily has. She has the looks, the hair, the cloths, the room. She has cloths that make you think that she pays a $1,000 for all of them. She is always pretty, she always has her hair up, she has a balcony off of her room. She even has a bathroom of her own. I share a room with two of my sisters, I share a bathroom with all my siblings. Yeah all 10 of them. Five brother and four sisters. I always get hand-me-downs. I hate it. I wish I had what Emily has. Well up at the window Emily watches Amy go by and she starts to cry. You see Emily is an only child and has everything that she wants. She wishes she had what Amy had. Siblings, share a room with sisters, share a bathroom, and sooooo much more. Amy was reading the Bible to her sister and read this verse(the one above). She realizes that she was jealous of Emily. So that night when she went to bed she prayed and ask GOD to help her. The next day at school she talked to Emily for the first time and found out that they both had been jealous of each other. Emily stared coming to Church and they became very good friends.
Joy watched as Ed and Melody got into Ed’s car. Joy wanted to be Ed’s girlfriend but she hated Melody for being his girlfriend. Joy’s friend Jack told her that GOD had the right guy for her and that she needed to stop being jealous. So she prayed and believed that GOD had the right guy for her. GOD did 7 years later Jack and Joy got married.
Here are some scriptures that go with this verse.
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” (NKJV)
‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor’s house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.’ (NKJV)
This week ask GOD to show areas in your life that you are jealous and then ask HIM to help you not be jealous. But just be thankful for what you have.
